Within the framework of the 19th Vietnam-Singapore Economic Connectivity Ministerial Meeting (CMM), the People’s Committee of Da Nang City and Grab Vietnam jointly launched an Action Plan to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 22 September 2025 to foster smart city development and promote digital transformation.
Under the five-year framework, both sides will focus on three main areas:
(1) Digital transformation in transportation, using technology and big data for post-disaster traffic monitoring, road safety initiatives such as “Don’t Drink and Drive”, and the digitalization of traditional transport services to create new income opportunities for local drivers and businesses.
(2) Tourism and culinary promotion, by digitizing Da Nang’s “Food Tour” program, supporting local food enterprises, and enhancing the city’s visibility at cultural and tourism events
(3) Community development and digital skills training, including AI and technical education in collaboration with local universities, and environmental initiatives for sustainable growth.
Key activities for 2025-2026 include a digital tourism promotion conference, an AI innovation contest for students, an e-commerce workshop for SMEs, and a tree-planting project in Phu Ninh protective forest.
