
On 5 November 2025, the Department of Science and Technology of Vinh Long Province held a meeting with relevant agencies to discuss the development of 5G network for 2025, with a vision to 2030, to review current efforts in telecommunication cable system upgrades and future implementation plans.
Under the Digital Infrastructure Development Plan for 2025–2030, Vinh Long aims to build an integrated, sustainable and open digital infrastructure system encompassing telecommunications and Internet networks, data centers, cloud computing, digital–physical infrastructure, digital utilities, and technology-as-a-service platforms.
The plan seeks to enhance communication systems for government operations to meet growing public demand for connectivity, ensure data processing and cybersecurity, and promote smart city development and digital transformation to strengthen the province’s overall competitiveness.
By 2027, the province targets full 5G coverage, with 5G base stations accounting for over 10 percent of total 4G sites by the end of 2025. By 2030, Vinh Long aims to establish a modern, high-capacity digital infrastructure with ultra-broadband connectivity, capable of meeting data transmission and connectivity needs of e-government, a digital economy, and a digital society.
