Intel Expands Manufacturing Operations in Saigon High-Tech Park

            On 24 October 2025, Mr. Kenneth Tse, General Director of Intel Products Vietnam (IPV), met with Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, to discuss the company’s plan to relocate its assembly, packaging, and inspection operations from its factory in Costa Rica to the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) in Ho Chi Minh City. This initiative forms part of Intel’s global strategy to enhance manufacturing efficiency and strengthen competitiveness.

            During a meeting with Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc, IPV General Director Kenneth Tse emphasized that the move aligns with Intel’s global strategy to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reinforce its competitive edge. Intel sought the city’s support for licensing imported equipment and ensuring air transport security during the transfer of production lines. Earlier in October 2025, Intel had begun recruiting additional production technicians in preparation for the expansion.

            Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc welcomed Intel’s expansion, that will position IPV as a regional hub for advanced packaging and testingproducing Intel’s most advanced products, He also reaffirmed Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to facilitating high-tech investment, which will contribute to sustainable development, digital transformation, and enhancing Vietnam’s role in the global high-tech supply chain, especially Ho Chi Minh City.

            Intel’s factory in Vietnam currently serves as the corporation’s largest assembly and testing facility, accounting for more than 50% of production, creating more than 6,000 jobs. As of the second quarter of 2025, the company has exported more than 4 billion products, contributing more than 100 billion USD to Vietnam’s export turnover. Furthermore, within the framework of the “Ho Chi Minh CityUnited States Fall Forum 2025” held in San Francisco on 16 October 2025, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the SHTP to sponsor machinery and equipment for semiconductor training programs – further integrating the city into global technology and innovation networks.
