On 11 November 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Tourism and the Ho Tram Commune People’s Committee held a strategic conference on developing Ho Tram as a leading seaside tourism destination. According to Mr. Nguyen Tuc, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, the goal is to transform Ho Tram into a “world-class coastal tourism hub”, positioning it as a safe, welcoming, and attractive destination.
Ho Tram possesses several distinctive tourism products, including golf facilities, an amusement park, and the sea-view observation bridge at the Bien Sang Tourism Complex. Its rapid growth is driven by both its natural beauty and a string of large-scale investments – combined with improving infrastructure such as the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, a coastal road, and the planned Long Thanh-Ho Tram Expressway, which will significantly reduce travel time from HCMC. Additionally, the commune hosts the highest concentration of hotels and four– and five-star resorts in HCMC.
The development tourism plan targets 8–10 million visitors annually, with international arrivals accounting for 30–40%. To boost tourism appeal, Ho Tram will host a series of events to promote local specialties and invest in adventure tourism, such as surfing, scuba diving, and boat racing to attract younger travellers. Upcoming initiatives include the Ho Tram Sea & Light Festival, Ho Tram Premium Weekend, and Ho Tram Sea Sports & Hot–Air Balloon Festival.
Local leaders also emphasize the importance of infrastructure investment to unlock Ho Tram’s potential. Mr. Trinh Hang, former Director of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Department of Tourism, emphasized the need to accelerate investment in road and urban railway infrastructure to enhance connectivity between Ho Tram, HCMC, and other provinces in Vietnam. At the same time, the HCMC Department of Tourism identified Ho Tram as a priority destination with significant potential and a unique identity. It stressed the importance of developing Ho Tram’s international brand as an eco-friendly, high-end resort destination, aiming to draw global investors to develop high-quality tourism infrastructure – including five-star hotels, luxury villas, and internationally certified services.
